About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Commercial Officer to join our middle management team. This role is essential in delivering our award-winning Procurement and Contract Management Service. Key Responsibilities: Provide effective management of operational staff within the Procurement and Contract Management Service Support the Senior Commercial Managers in execution of category management and ongoing contract management activity. Responsibility for leading task and finish groups. Contribute to the Service team plan and Strategy. Lead and manage high value/ complex procurements and contracting activity. Hold the team to account for delivering high standards of performance against agreed indicators. Build strong working relationships with principal stakeholders such as Heads of Service and managed staff. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure procurement and contracting activities are effective and provide value for money. Provide specialist procurement and contract advice and guidance to support the organisation's forward procurement plans. Deputise for the Senior Commercial Manager where required. Qualifications and Experience: Extensive experience in procurement, with a strong track record in managing and delivering complex procurement projects. Demonstrable experience of complex supplier negotiations and delivery of cashable savings. In-depth knowledge and understanding of procurement legislation. Relevant degree or in the process of completing a professional qualification related to procurement (e.g., CIPS), or equivalent knowledge and experience. Clear communicator with the ability to get others onboard and engaged. Ability to plan your own time and help others in the team manage their time effectively to ensure the successful delivery of the commercial pipeline. Proactive, can-do attitude.
