Monday – Friday, 1pm – 5pm (20 hours per week)
Much Hadham, Hertfordshire
Support lives. Shape futures. Stay organised.
About St Elizabeth’s Centre
Set across 60 acres of peaceful Hertfordshire countryside, St Elizabeth’s is a vibrant charity that provides specialist education, residential and health care to children, young people and adults with complex needs, including epilepsy. With over 120 years of dedicated service, our mission is to help the people we support Live Life to the Full — and that starts with the people who make it possible.
We are proud to be an aspirational, collaborative, joyful, and compassionate organisation where every team member is valued and every role contributes to life-changing outcomes.
About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive, personable, and highly organised Administration Officer to join our Adult Learning team within the Community Hub. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the day-to-day running of our services is smooth, professional, and responsive.
As the friendly face and first point of contact for our Community Hub, your excellent organisational and communication skills will make all the difference to the people we support, their families, and our colleagues.
In this busy and varied role, you will:
* Deliver high-quality, front-of-house administrative support to ensure the Community Hub runs efficiently
* Handle phone and in-person queries with warmth, clarity, and professionalism
* Arrange meetings, take minutes, and distribute documentation promptly and accurately
* Manage and maintain internal systems, databases, and records
* Liaise confidently with staff across departments, as well as with families and carers
About You
You’re a natural organiser with a can-do attitude and an eye for detail. Your people skills are just as strong as your admin abilities — you communicate clearly, adapt quickly, and bring a warm and respectful presence to every interaction.
* Previous experience in a busy admin environment
* Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise tasks
* Comfortable working independently while being part of a collaborative team
* Friendly, compassionate, and professional when handling sensitive situations
* A driving licence is desirable due to our rural location
Why join St Elizabeth’s?
You’ll be part of a passionate, close-knit team who support each other and take pride in making a difference every day. Alongside meaningful work, we offer:
* Discounted on-site gym membership
* Free on-site parking
* Fully paid-for DBS
* Contributory pension scheme with up to 6% employer match
* Employee Assistance Programme for confidential wellbeing support
* Life Assurance and Employee Recognition Scheme
* “Recommend a Friend” scheme (£500 for allocated roles)
Next Steps
Apply via our website by completing our application form and uploading your CV. Interviews are scheduled on a rolling basis, so we recommend applying early.
Please note that we are not located on a public transport route, so access to your transport is helpful.
The advertised salary is part-time and based on a full-time equivalent rate. The final offer will depend on qualifications and experience.
