Around since, SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity. Today, we operate over 70 services in communities across Scotland, providing mental health social care support, addictions and employment services, among others. Together with national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention, and physical activity and sport, these services inform SAMH’s policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.

Location: North East Glasgow (Tollcross and Mount Vernon)

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: £24, – £25, (Salary Points 13-19*) Plus Sleepover Enhancement for every sleepover completed and On Call Payments

*whilst this is a scale for progression, the starting salary is point 13

About the Role

SAMH Easterhill Service is looking for a support worker to be part of an innovative service which makes a positive impact on the lives of the people who use the service.

As a Support Worker, you will carry key-worker responsibility for a number of service users, some of whom will require individual support. This will involve supporting people to develop outcome-focused action plans, carrying out assessments and reviews and contributing to the facilitation and development of therapeutic groups.

What we are looking for

Your attitude and personality matter as much as your skills and experiences. We are looking for initiative, creativity, energy and determination and the ability to motivate and inspire service users to develop their skills and self-confidence and realise their aspirations.

You will have excellent communication and inter-personal skills and knowledge and experience in supporting people with mental health problems. The post involves evening work which is covered on a rota basis.
