Job Description

Production Manager required for Medical Device client based in Shannon, CO. Clare. Permanent role.

Reporting to the Operations Director, The Production Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day manufacturing operations within our growing Shannon site to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production. This role manages people, capacity, and workflow to meet customer demand, improve performance, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

1. Manage and adjust production schedules to meet customer orders and inventory targets.
2. Balance demand, capacity, and resources to optimize output and on-time delivery.
3. Collaborate with procurement and logistics to ensure material availability.
4. Lead multiple manufacturing teams, including Team Leaders and Cell Coordinators.
5. Monitor daily operations, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure adherence to plans.

People & Performance Management

6. Provide clear direction, coaching, and development for production teams.
7. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous feedback.
8. Lead regular team briefings and maintain strong floor presence.
9. Develop cross-training plans to maximize team flexibility and responsiveness.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

10. Champion a quality-first mindset across operations.
11. Ensure products meet all specifications and compliance standards.
12. Lead root cause investigations, CAPA resolution, and quality system improvements.
13. Drive efficiency and waste reduction initiatives using Lean methodologies.
14. Partner with Quality, Procurement, and Facilities teams for cross-functional improvements.

Safety & Compliance

15. Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and environmental regulations.
16. Conduct regular safety audits, training, and incident investigations.
17. Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.

Cost & KPI Management

18. Manage labor and material costs within budget.
19. Track and report key metrics: productivity, yield, downtime, and quality.
20. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising standards.
21. Oversee administration: KPIs, time & attendance, holiday planning, etc.

Requirements: Qualifications & Experience: Education & Technical Skills

22. Degree (Level 7 or higher) in Production Management, Engineering, or related field.
23. Proficient in ERP/MES and production planning systems.
24. Strong understanding of GMP, QMS, and lean manufacturing principles.
25. Familiarity with digital manufacturing tools, real-time production tracking systems, and process automation technologies is a plus.

Experience

26. 3–4 years in a supervisory or management role in a manufacturing environment.
27. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive performance, and develop talent.
28. Proven success in process improvement, capacity planning, and efficiency gains.
29. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities.
