Working hours: Monday – Friday, (term time only) 8.30- 3.30
Unique School Solutions are supporting a wonderful primary school in the S36 area of Sheffield to recruit a specialist Teaching Assistant to work within a newly founded specialist learning environment within the school. The unit supports primary aged pupils with complex needs and speech and language difficulties. Although initially this role will be long-term temporary, there is the opportunity for a permanent contract for the right candidate with the school following a successful probation period.

The role:
* Working with EYFS/primary aged children with SEND as required under the instruction and guidance of the class teacher
* Ensuring the safety of children
* Planning and preparing resources and activities
* Working with small groups of children
* Working with children with SEND
* Supporting with personal care as and when required
Essential requirements for the role:
* Previous and recent experience working with EYFS/Primary aged SEND children in a school environment
* Experience of working with non verbal children
* Willingness to support with personal care as and when required
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* Ability to use own initiative
* The ability to build rapport with young learners
* The ability to use own initiative and work with other support staff
* The ability to support small groups with learning
