About the role
As the Occupational Therapist/Clinical Advisor for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd, you will provide expert advice and support to prescribers, commissioners, operational staff, and the community.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing clinical team within the Community Equipment Services (CES) for Ealing. We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Occupational Therapist to provide expert equipment advice and support to prescribers, commissioners, operational staff, and the wider community. You will use your specialist knowledge to drive best practice, develop innovative solutions, and support the delivery of a high-quality, best-value equipment loan service. Co-production is central in Ealing, and you will work closely with prescribing teams, managers, and commissioners to help achieve shared service goals.
You will use your expert knowledge to ensure best practice within the service and help develop and deliver innovative solutions, providing a high-quality, cost effective, and efficient equipment loan service.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
* Work with senior management, referrers, commissioners, suppliers, and operational teams to deliver a person-centred Community Equipment Service.
* Provide specialist clinical advice to support referrers and service teams, including oversight of special equipment orders and maximising equipment recycling.
* Offer expert guidance on equipment suitability, procurement, and best-value decision-making.
* Collaborate with health and social care professionals and CES commissioners to drive best practice, clinical governance, and safe working standards.
* Deliver training, demonstrations, and support as required by the contract.
* Work with CES managers to maintain accurate catalogue systems, ensuring efficient use of equipment and best value.
* Be based at our Heathrow head office depot, working closely with depot managers and the Ealing contract team.

Qualifications and experience required.
* Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy
* To be registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Significant post-qualification experience at a senior level
* Significant experience of community equipment services, particularly with "specials".
* Solid IT skills to use Microsoft Office packages and multiple in-house systems.
