Job Purpose
To provide onsite support for the in-service management of Operational Technology (OT) and ensure cyber security compliance of Plant Computing Systems (PCS) and Technical Support Computing Systems (TSCS) at Heysham 1. The role supports technical governance and cyber security policies, contributing to safe and secure station operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Service Delivery Management and governance reporting for contract delivery.
* Succession planning and demonstration of service sustainability.
* Configuration control and maintenance of OT/PCS systems.
* Administration of malware checks, backups and digital forensic investigations.
* Maintenance of asset inventories, risk registers and network diagrams.
* Participation in cyber incident response and awareness training.
* Compliance with EDF standards (CTS, TGN, INF) and cyber security risk management for OT assets.
* Support of CBSIS documentation, security risk assessments and operating procedures.
* Assistance with configuration management and software library upkeep.
* Collaboration with system engineers to implement security requirements and awareness of current cyber security threats and vulnerabilities.
Qualifications & Skills
* BSc/BEng or HND in Computer Science, Cyber Security or related field.
* Knowledge of IEC 61226/62443, NIST CSF and EDF standards.
* Experience with industrial control systems, SCADA, PLCs, HMIs and industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC, HART).
* Understanding of network security principles and DMZ architecture.
* Familiarity with legacy and modern computing systems and storage media.
* Strong attention to detail, record‑keeping and communication skills.
* Ability to mentor and train new engineers and build effective relationships with system owners.
Training
* Site induction and Asset Guardian training.
* All qualifications and training required for unescorted access to site.
Additional Requirements
* Must live within 60 minutes of Heysham 1.
* Full UK driving licence required.
* Compliance with CBSIS Security Operating Procedures and daily briefings.
* UK Cyber Security Council registration at Practitioner Cyber Security Professional (PraCSP) level or above, or ability to meet the criteria for registration.
* Security Check (SC) clearance.
* QA Grade 3, environmental standards, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) requirements as specified by the contract and company policy.
* Support knowledge retention and capability resilience by documenting processes and contributing to long‑term sustainability of the OT cyber security function.
