MTC is seeking a highly capable and motivated individual to join the team as Security Infrastructure Engineering Manager. Reporting to the Head of Secure Infrastructure, you’ll support the delivery of secure infrastructure projects for both internal and external clients. This is a unique opportunity to lead complex development schemes, ensuring security requirements are seamlessly integrated into cutting‑edge infrastructure.
You’ll be the key point of contact between MTC, the client, the professional design team and external accreditors.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
* Leading secure infrastructure development projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
* Managing and coordinating professional teams including architects, engineers, and surveyors.
* Overseeing compliance with statutory security and building regulations, including Defence Security Standards and CDM regulations.
* Producing detailed reports, managing project finances, and chairing key meetings.
* Developing feasibility studies, project bids, and budget estimates.
* Driving continuous improvement and innovation in secure infrastructure delivery.
Who Are We Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced engineer with management experience within construction. You'll have a track record of managing a team of infrastructure design professionals and achieving exceptional results in project delivery.
You’ll have previous experience monitoring the progress of appointed contractors as well as internal teams.
This role requires excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships quickly and influence decision making.
You’ll be
* Degree‑qualified from a relevant professional qualification organisation such as Royal Institute of British Architects, Association of Project Management, Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Security Institute, Register of Security Engineering Specialists, Institute of Security or equivalent.
* Proven post‑qualified experience in construction projects or security engineering roles.
* Ability to carry out site inspections on the quality of installation works.
* Strong understanding of RIBA Plan of Work, contract administration, and capital development processes.
* Proficient in CAD tools and developing CAD drawings (Revit & AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office suite.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams effectively.
Desirable Skills And Experience Includes
* Experience with Defence Security Standards (JSPs) and NPSA STaMP assessments.
* Knowledge of HVM, drone risk mitigation, blast and ballistic design.
* Knowledge and experience of designing and specifying security equipment such as CCTV, Access control systems, intruder detection systems (training can be provided).
* Understanding of secure infrastructure operations and maintenance.
