About the role
Are you ready to take your Biomedical Science career to the next level in a stunning island setting?
As Chief Biomedical Scientist in Histology, you will play a key role within the Pathology Department at Noble’s Hospital on the beautiful Isle of Man.
The department is responsible for the preparation of histological and cytological material under specific standard operational procedures and for producing prepared slides for diagnosis of disease by one of our Consultant Pathologists. The department utilises the most up-to-date scientific methods e.g. immunocytochemistry in conjunction with traditional methods.
As Head of Department for Histology you will be responsible for the management of the Histology team including Biomedical Scientists and MLAs. You will devise rotas and monitor stock, ensuring all procedures meet the requirements of ISO 15189 and other relevant guidelines. You will have overall responsibility for the Histology department and therefore ensure the competency of all staff members while regularly contributing to the daily bench work and workload by taking part in the rota yourself.
This is your opportunity to join a dedicated, supportive and forward‑thinking team, and use your knowledge and passion to make a real difference!
