Mental Health Senior Support Worker – Integrated Mental Health Service
Join the London Borough of Hackney as a Mental Health Senior Support Worker and lead a team of mental health support workers within our Integrated Mental Health Service (IMHS). This role focuses on early intervention, prevention, and reablement, maximizing residents’ independence and reducing reliance on statutory services.
Responsibilities
* Provide day‑to‑day supervision and guidance to support workers, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred interventions.
* Lead on early intervention and preventative approaches that support recovery.
* Screen referrals to identify and allocate the most appropriate support worker input across the service.
* Work directly with residents and carers to promote wellbeing and social inclusion.
* Collaborate effectively with social workers, health colleagues, and wider partners to ensure a joined‑up response.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience of working with adults with mental health needs in a health or social care setting.
* Strong understanding of prevention, reablement, and recovery‑focused approaches.
* Experience of supervising, mentoring, or supporting staff in a team environment.
* Excellent communication, organisational skills, and the ability to build positive relationships.
* A relevant vocational qualification in health or social care is an advantage.
Requirements
