Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the role of Regional Maintenance Manager will be responsible for taking ownership of performance and quality, achieving and maximising the efficiency of the process and delivering a preventative maintenance scheme for fixed plant. You will manage a team of both mechanical Fitters and electrical engineers to control health and safety requirements in respect of the full range of activities carried out on site.
As Regional Maintenance Manager you will be proactive and ‘hands on’ in all maintenance activity including Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), defect and risk management, breakdowns, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and project engineering work. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Monitoring and maximising productivity of processes, making cost effective use of resources, products and equipment. Identifying ways to improve processes and quality
2. Communicating performance targets and KPI’s to team through meetings, briefings and site objectives
3. Managing plant maintenance checks and inspections as required including basic maintenance practices (i.e. check levels, parts, wear, pressure and sensors, grease and lubricate equipment)
4. Undertaking and/or reviewing maintenance inspections and reporting defects
5. Monitoring and reporting key successes and deficiencies across sites (performance, product, equipment, people) to site managers, undertaking root cause analysis and highlighting problems as necessary
6. Assist in development of 5 year CAPEX plan
7. Controlling and managing production-associated costs (including contract labour and overtime)
8. Delivering the maintenance management systems, ensuring appropriate application of maintenance procedures, methods and best practices
9. Managing Health and Safety rules and regulations across all sites
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role of Regional Maintenance Manager will be instrumental in the development and support of the engineering culture across the region. You will have experience as an Engineering Manager or Maintenance Supervisor within a similar heavy manufacturing industry with responsibility for successfully managing a regional team.
Suitable candidates for the role of Regional Maintenance Manager will have:
10. Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems knowledge, with an understanding of electrical systems
11. Proven experience successfully managing a multi discipline maintenance team
12. Confidence and ability to challenge people appropriately and hold them accountable for job completion and quality of completion
13. Working knowledge of continuous improvement techniques, Lean methodology, Six Sigma and FMEA and Root Cause Analysis investigative methods preferred
14. Strong evidence of effective team management with a positive, proactive solution focussed attitude
15. IT literate - familiarity with computer software (word, excel, in house systems)
16. Recognised apprenticeship or engineering degree or equivalent experience
