Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team in supported living accommodation. This role involves providing personalised care and assistance to individuals with a range of needs and requiring specialised support. The position involves shift work, offering flexibility to suit various schedules. Successful candidates will play a vital role in promoting independence, safety, and well-being within a caring environment.
The position of Support Worker is to provide assistance with daily living tasks, promoting independence in line with the Service Users' goal-setting and support plans, taking into account each individual's specific needs and level of support required to achieve their goals.
As a Support Worker, you will be required to provide person-centred support to residents, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
You will be responsible for monitoring service users' welfare and conducting room checks with supervision as required, ensuring a safe and positive atmosphere is maintained throughout the accommodation.
This is an active, hands-on role. It is not a sit-down post. Staff are expected to take pride in the environment and lead by example in maintaining high standards across the property.

Responsibilities
* Service User Support
* Provide person-centered support to each resident in line with their individual support plans and risk assessments.
* Encourage independence and involvement in daily routines such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and budgeting.
* Support service users to access community resources, appointments, and meaningful activities.
* Build trusting and respectful relationships with residents to promote emotional well-being.
* Monitor and record residents' progress, mood, and any concerns daily, reporting promptly to the Operations Manager.
* Assist with move-ins, inductions, and ensuring new residents feel welcomed and supported.
Housekeeping & Property Standards
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout all communal areas of the property.
* Housekeeping duties of communal areas including vacuuming, cleaning/wiping surfaces, light removing rubbish (emptying bins).
* Support and encourage residents to participate in cleaning and maintaining their own spaces as part of developing independence.
* Lead by example in promoting cleanliness, organisation, and respect for shared spaces.
* Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and documented where required.
Health, Safety & Safeguarding
* Ensure the accommodation is safe, secure, and well maintained at all times.
* Conduct room checks as scheduled, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance with standards.
* Report maintenance issues, hazards, or incidents immediately.
* Follow safeguarding policies, reporting any concerns or disclosures appropriately.
* Support health and safety procedures, including fire drills and emergency responses.
* Promote infection control and hygiene standards throughout the property.
Record Keeping & Communication
* Maintain accurate, confidential records of daily logs, incidents, and support notes.
* Contribute to support reviews and team handovers with relevant updates.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, managers, and external professionals.
* Use digital systems to record data accurately and promptly.
Teamwork & Professional Conduct
* Work collaboratively with the team to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
* Attend staff meetings, supervision, and training as required.
* Uphold professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
* Promote the organisation's values of respect, inclusion, and empowerment.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* All room checks completed on schedule and logged accurately.
* Positive feedback from residents and colleagues.
* Timely and accurate record-keeping.
* Compliance with safeguarding, health and safety standards.
* Consistent maintenance of a clean, safe, and well-presented living environment.
Previous Experience
Essential:
* Enhanced DBS Check – can be provided
* Experience working in supported living, social care, or housing support environments
* Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
* Empathetic, patient, and able to build positive relationships with diverse individuals
* Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team
* Basic IT and record-keeping skills
* Flexible to work various shifts, including weekends and nights
Desirable:
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
* Knowledge of housing support, tenancy sustainment, or low-level mental health support
* First Aid, Fire Safety, and Health & Safety training
