We wish to recruit staff nurse's to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary teams that provide specialist services to children, young people and families within our mental health services.

Our CAMHS Inpatient Unit consists of two wards rated Outstanding by CQC. The Hope and Horizon Unit, based in Bury, provide general adolescent and eating disorder inpatient care and treatment for young people aged 13-18 years. Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust have been awarded Lead Provider role for the Greater Manchester CAMHS Inpatient Lead Provider Collaborative and there has never been a more exciting time to join our innovative and quality driven service.


Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit nurses who are passionate about working in CAMHS, supporting young people along with their parents and carers, with the ability to work flexible shift patterns over seven days, including rotation to night duty.

As a qualified nurse you would be a vital member of the team in delivering person centred care to those admitted onto the ward. You will be working with people who can be very distressed and display some very challenging behaviours. It will be your responsibility to provide reassurance and distraction, using care and compassion, for young people experiencing mental ill health. You will also be responsible for a wide range of tasks such as care planning and implementation, risk assessment, physical health assessment, liaising with the wider MDT, ward rounds and you will be a named nurse.

We would absolutely love to hear form Student Nurses who are due to qualify and are keen to start their career as a registered nurse with CAMHS.

* Knowledge of CPA processes.

* Ability to assess, plan and implement care programmes for young people with complex emotional and/or behavioural difficulties
* Ability to observe, listen and communicate effectively, verbally and non-verbally with young people and their families

* Ability to recognise own limits and seek appropriate support
* Ability to recognise own attitudes towards offending / challenging behaviours.

What happens after your application has been received?

You will be informed about the progress of your application following shortlisting via email. Only applicants who clearly demonstrate the criteria listed in the person specification will be shortlisted for interview. Interview invites will be sent out via email.

What happens if I am offered the position after interview?

The hiring manager will make contact with you to verbally offer you the position. The hiring manager will then inform Recruitment of the decision and provide relevant paperwork. You will be sent a formal conditional offer via email.

What pre-employment checks will I need to complete?

By conducting pre-employment checks, the recruitment team will verify that you meet the pre-conditions of the role you have been offered. Pre-employment checks will be carried out according to. The checks are:

* Identity verification
* Right to work check
* Disclosure and barring service (DBS)/Criminal record check (dependent on role)
* Professional registration and/or qualification check
* Occupational health assessment
* Employment history and reference validation

All applicants external to NHS will be required to provide to cover the most recent three years. This information will used to validate employment history and references as part of pre-employment checks.

What happens when pre-employment checks are complete?

Recruitment will liaise with you and the hiring manager to arrange a start date for your new position. You will then be booked on to a Trust Welcome Session and be sent your Pennine Care NHS Terms and Conditions.
