Your new role
As a Management Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function and driving business performance. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
2. Maintain and update standard costs, BOMs, routings, and labour/machine rates.
3. Analyse manufacturing variances: PPV, material usage, labour, overheads, and efficiency.
4. Oversee stock valuation for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods; investigate discrepancies and support stock counts.
5. Produce margin, overhead, and production cost reports with clear insights for operational teams.
6. Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost modelling for production and operational decision making.
7. Partner with Production, Engineering, Procurement, and Supply Chain to challenge performance and improve cost control.
8. Monitor KPIs across manufacturing operations and highlight risks, trends, and opportunities.
9. Strengthen financial controls around stock, costing, and manufacturing processes; assist with audits.
10. Drive process improvements and enhance system use within the finance and operations workflow.
What you'll need to succeed
11. Fully qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) preferred, or nearing full qualification
12. Proven experience as a Management Accountant within manufacturing – or with a varied accountancy practice background
13. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
14. Strong knowledge / or keen to learn about… accounting, standard costing, and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills
15. Analytical, detail focused, proactive, and able tomunicate clearly with non‑finance stakeholders.
16. A proactive approach and ability tomunicate effectively across departments
