This is an exciting opportunity for a Prescribing Pharmacist and/or Dispensing Pharmacist to join a forward-thinking clinical team at the forefront of digital healthcare. You will play a key role in delivering safe, compliant, and patient-centred services through structured online consultations and prescription verification.

Role Overview
You will be responsible for clinically assessing and verifying online treatment requests, supporting safe supply of medicines, and ensuring full regulatory compliance within a modern, governance-led digital pharmacy environment.
Online consultations will be conducted only where clinically required.
Clinical & Professional Responsibilities
* Clinically screen and verify online prescriptions and treatment requests
* Ensure medicines supplied are:
* Clinically appropriate
* Legally valid
* In line with SPCs, NICE guidance, and internal protocols
* Identify clinical red flags and escalate appropriately
* Ensure safe and lawful supply of POM and P medicines
* Maintain clear, accurate, and auditable records
Governance & Regulatory Compliance
* Work fully within PSNI Standards for Registered Pharmacies
* Ensure compliance with:
* Distance-selling pharmacy regulations
* MHRA requirements for online medicines supply
* Advertising and promotion restrictions
* Support:
* SOP implementation and review
* Incident reporting and learning
* Internal audits and inspection preparedness
* Contribute to continuous quality improvement and governance culture
Operational Duties
* Work on-site, or in the case of a Prescribing Pharmacists remotely, and with pharmacy and operational teams in Kilkeel (where applicable)
* Use online pharmacy platforms to process and verify supply decisions
* Liaise with prescribers, clinical leads, and management
* Support controlled documentation and record-keeping systems
Professional Conduct
* Maintain high professional, ethical, and confidentiality standards
* Keep CPD up to date and meet PSNI revalidation requirements
* Act in accordance with the Code of Ethics for Pharmacists in Northern Ireland
Essential Requirements
* Registered Pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (PSNI)
* Eligible to practise in Northern Ireland
* Minimum 2 years post-registration experience
* Strong working knowledge of:
* POM legislation (NI)
* Online / distance-selling pharmacy requirements
* Clinical risk assessment and escalation
* Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
* Confident working in a structured, governance-led environment
Desirable Experience (but not essential)
* Experience in:
* Online or distance-selling pharmacy services
* Clinical screening or verification roles
* Governance, SOP writing, or audit work
* Familiarity with MHRA or PSNI pharmacy inspections
* Experience with weight management, long-term condition, or private prescribing pathways
