A leading international service company providing critical logistics, materials, marine, and environmental solutions to the energy sector is seeking a skilled Legal Counsel. This role sits at Group level, supporting operations across multiple jurisdictions including the UK, Scandinavia, North America and Africa.
The Role:
As Legal Counsel, you will join a compact Legal and Compliance team based at the company’s Aberdeen headquarters (remote working options possible).
Working closely with the Group General Counsel, you will be the second most senior legal resource providing pivotal support to the business across UK and international jurisdictions.
The position is primarily focused on commercial work, relating to tenders and customer contracts, governance matters such as anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions compliance, fraud prevention, data protection, and assistance with M&A, financing, and insurance renewals.
Candidate Profile:
1. Qualified solicitor with current practicing certificate (Scotland or England & Wales).
2. 5 to 10 years PQE in a corporate or commercial legal environment, ideally with experience in-house or private practice.
3. Experience within the energy sector, particularly in the energy services industry, is beneficial.
4. Strong contracting skills, with knowledge of LOGIC contracts preferred.
5. Exposure to compliance areas including GDPR, sanctions, ABC, and data protection is highly advantageous.
6. Comfortable working internationally across multiple jurisdictions and collaborating with external counsel.
