Our Building Services business are looking for an Electrical Bias Technician for Days to join the team at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London.
A properly cleaned, ventilated or heated room makes a real difference to a patient’s wellbeing and recovery.

You’ll:
1. Take responsibility for the maintenance of hospital equipment, plant, services and systems including undertake inspection and testing of electrical and mechanical equipment and installations (including portable appliances)
2. Comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including Health and Safety legislation and in accordance with Health Technical Memorandums (HTM) and Health Building Notifications (HBN).
3. Work safely on mechanical systems, LV/HV and generated electrical systems in accordance with all statutory electrical regulations and health and safety legislation and regulations
4. Take responsibility for the maintenance of all aspects of mechanical systems including HVAC plant, washroom services, sterilisers, bedpan macerators / washers, disinfectors and other mechanical equipment ancillary plant and systems.
5. Actively participate in the operation and control of engineering planned maintenance scheme and to complete all report sheets and test certificates where necessary.
6. Complete installations for new work or alterations in compliance with legislative and hospital regulations, such as IEE Regulations
7. Carry out any other reasonable tasks and duties relevant to the post and grade as may be determined by the Estates Manager
8. Undertake any training as required and to provide training, guidance, technical advice and support to trainees and maintenance assistants
We're looking for:
9. BTEC/HNC or City & Guilds Craft certificate or equivalent or a recognised apprenticeship
10. Certificate in 18th Edition IEE Regulation (Current)
11. As defined by the latest edition of The Electrical Safety Code for Low Voltage Systems for Competent Person (LV).
12. Competent person for “other” mechanical systems.
13. Good knowledge of H&S Legislation and some knowledge of COSHH
14. Basic computer skills
15. Experience of building maintenance and systems
16. Experience of working in a hospital environment
17. Experience of working on specialist hospital equipment
18. Experience of lone working
19. Knowledge of hospital specifics (HTM’s)
20. Knowledge of hospital Health Building Notifications (HBN)
