Salary: £89 - £108 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Protocol Education is working with a range of supportive and inclusive SEND schools in the Gateshead area who are seeking Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistants to join their teams. These roles involve supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.
The Role:
As a SEND TA, you will:
1. Support students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to meet individual targets.
2. Work collaboratively with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver personalised learning plans.
3. Help manage behaviour and promote engagement using de-escalation strategies.
4. Assist pupils with personal care if required.
5. Maintain a positive, nurturing learning environment.
Requirements:
6. Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – essential
7. Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in schools or alternative settings)
8. Confidence in working with challenging behaviour and using positive behaviour support strategies
9. A calm, caring, and flexible approach
10. A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
