Sous Chef – Modern Gastro Pub (North Yorkshire)
We're looking for a passionate Sous Chef \ Junior Sous ready to step up and join our client's growing team in their recently launched gastro pub based near Ripon, North Yorkshire.
Salary: £36,000 – £38,000 + tips
About the role:
Pub service hours:
* Wednesday – Dinner only
* Thursday – Saturday – Lunch & Dinner
* Sunday – Lunch service only (12–6)
* Monday & Tuesday – Closed
* Small, focused brigade including Head Chef, CDP and Commis, with additional support where needed.
* Menu: Modern pub classics – not huge, but everything is made from scratch with a focus on quality.
* Progression opportunities: Training and experience available across all of our client's 6 restaurants, all located nearby.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the Head Chef with menu development and daily specials.
* Lead the kitchen team in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring smooth service.
* Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and consistency.
* Support with ordering, stock control, and waste management.
* Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are upheld at all times.
* Train, motivate, and support junior kitchen staff.
