Job Title: Assistant Facility Manager
Location: House of Sport, Cardiff
Reporting to: Facilities Operations Manager
Responsible for: Senior Facility Assistants, Facility Assistants, Cleaners
Rate of Pay: TBC
Hours: 37.5 per week (pro rata)
1. Purpose of the Role
Cardiff City House of Sport operates a cluster of high-quality indoor multi-sport training facilities in Cardiff. With recent and ongoing expansion, we are seeking an Assistant Facility Manager to support the Facilities Operations Manager in the day-to-day running of our venue.
You will be responsible for supervising all key operational areas of House of Sport 1, 2 & 3. This includes leading staff resources, coordinating operations, and ensuring our Centres are run effectively, safely, and in compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements, including the Health & Safety at Work Act.
2. Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the optimal operation of the sports facilities, ensuring security, cleanliness, tidiness, safety of customers, and adherence to emergency procedures.
* Report operational issues promptly to the Facilities Operations Manager and Booking Manager.
* Motivate, manage, and supervise operational staff, ensuring checklists and duties are carried out consistently.
* Support the Operations Manager with performance management of staff.
* Ensure facilities and equipment are prepared and reinstated according to activity schedules.
* Handle customer queries in a professional and efficient manner.
* Assist in developing the Centre's services and activities to enhance the customer experience.
* Support the Operations Manager with administrative and operational tasks within set timeframes.
* Manage building access, including locking and unlocking facilities as required.
* Provide cover for general office duties when facilities are quiet or as directed.
