Head of Operations & Accommodation Liverpool £40,000 | Full Time | 37.5 hours per week We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Head of Operations & Accommodation to join a charity leadership team and play a vital role in supporting people who have experienced homelessness to rebuild their lives. This is a hands-on senior leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operations of a residential community, ensuring that companions (people supported by the charity) receive safe, structured accommodation and meaningful opportunities to progress into positive futures. Alongside overseeing accommodation and support services, you will also provide strategic oversight of retail and trading activities, ensuring they remain financially sustainable and aligned with the organisation's mission. About the Role As Head of Operations & Accommodation, you will provide strong operational leadership across the organisation, ensuring services are compliant, well-run and focused on achieving positive outcomes for companions. You will lead a small but dedicated team including Support Workers, Retail, Catering and Administration staff, ensuring a culture of accountability, professionalism and support. This is a visible leadership role that requires sound judgement, operational grip and a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable adults. Key Responsibilities Community & Companion Support Maintain appropriate occupancy levels and oversee companion recruitment and induction Ensure support plans, progression tracking and outcomes monitoring are effective Promote a structured and respectful community culture Manage complaints, disputes and safeguarding concerns Accommodation & Compliance Ensure residential properties remain safe, compliant and well maintained Oversee health & safety, fire safety, risk assessments and statutory compliance Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready systems Operations & Governance Strengthen operational systems, policies and processes Ensure compliance with safeguarding, housing benefit and data protection requirements Produce operational and performance reports for the Board of Trustees Leadership & Team Management Line manage staff and support professional development Conduct supervision, appraisals and performance management Maintain strong staff training and wellbeing practices Retail & Trading Oversight Provide strategic oversight of retail operations and income generation Monitor budgets and financial performance Support the development of sustainable trading opportunities About You We are looking for a confident and values-driven leader who brings: ? Senior operational leadership experience within supported housing, homelessness, social care or similar sectors ? Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex staffing matters ? Strong knowledge of safeguarding, compliance, health & safety and governance frameworks ? Experience overseeing operational systems, reporting and performance management ? The ability to balance empathy with accountability when supporting vulnerable people A degree or equivalent experience in housing, social care, leadership or business management is expected, with professional housing or leadership qualifications desirable.
