A site based fixed term role for circa 8 months responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality on-site delivery of construction activities associated with the construction of new facilities at an Industrial plant in South London.
The Construction Manager will lead day-to-day site construction activities, coordinate contractors, and ensure works are executed in accordance with approved designs, permits, safety requirements, and programme milestones.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects within a fast-paced agile delivery environment managing interfaces across multiple stakeholders.Construction management experience of both EPC and self-delivery capital projects is essential.
Ideally the successful candidate will have extensive experience within the process/power sector, mechanical fabrication and erection, instrumentation and control systems.
Reporting to the Project Manager while working closely with site stakeholders and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Health, Safety & Environmental Management
Promote and embed a positive health and safety culture across all site activities.
Enforce the client's behavioural safety programme through visible site leadership.
Ensure contractor compliance with HASAW, CDM 2015, RIDDOR, PUWER, LOLER, PSSR, COSHH and site rules.
Chair toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Ensure incidents and near misses are reported, investigated, and closed out.
Site Construction Management
Lead daily site construction activities.
Supervise contractors to ensure works meet quality and safety expectations.
Ensure works follow approved drawings, RAMS, and permits.
Coordinate site logistics, lifting operations, and temporary works.
Plan works around live operations to minimise disruption.
Quality Assurance & Technical Compliance
Implement site quality control and inspection regimes.
Ensure non-conformances are identified and corrected.
Support testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
Maintain accurate red-line drawings and site records.
Contractor & Interface Coordination
Act as primary on-site contact for contractors and operations.
Coordinate multiple contractors working concurrently.
Escalate site risks and constraints appropriately.
CDM & Site Compliance
Support compliance with CDM 2015 Construction Phase requirements.
Ensure inductions, permits, and competency controls are enforced.
Maintain site documentation for audits and inspections.
Team Leadership & Communication
Provide clear on-site leadership and direction.
Maintain strong communication with all site parties.
Contribute to a collaborative site culture.
Reporting (Site-Focused)
Provide routine site progress and safety updates.

Maintain site diaries and photographic records.
