Director of Strategic Partnerships – Logistics & Comparator Services
Position Summary
The Director of Strategic Partnerships – Logistics & Comparator Services is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and managing high-value partnerships with global logistical and comparator partners. This position plays a critical role in aligning external capabilities with Catalent's operational excellence, quality standards, and commercial objectives to support the Clinical & Specialty Services Segment. The Director will provide strategic oversight of logistics and comparator sourcing partners, ensuring best-in-class service delivery across diverse client portfolios, therapeutic areas, and trial designs. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, resilience, and long-term growth through robust vendor strategies.
The Role (daily responsibilities)
* Strategic Partnership Development: Build and maintain strategic relationships with global and regional transportation providers and comparator drug suppliers, including premium couriers, integrators, wholesalers, manufacturers, and specialty vendors.
* Establish preferred partnership models that optimise flexibility, scalability, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation across varying sponsor requirements.
* Market Intelligence: Continuously evaluate market capabilities to ensure Catalent delivers industry-leading solutions for evolving trial models, including decentralised, hybrid, and global studies.
* Contract & Commercial Leadership: Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and risk-sharing models to achieve cost efficiencies, synergies whilst maintaining service excellence.
* Governance & Performance: Implement governance structures for partner oversight and manage performance through KPIs, SLAs, QBRs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Comparator Sourcing: Ensure reliable, compliant sourcing across multiple geographies, mitigating risks related to shortages, allocations, relabelling, and lead times. Drive cost optimization through competitive bidding, strategic partnerships, and leveraging market intelligence for pricing benchmarks.
* Business Development Support: Partner with Business Development and proposal teams to define sourcing strategies, timelines, and cost models for transportation and comparator services.
* Other duties as assigned.
The Candidate (requirements)
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
* 10+ years of experience in clinical supply chain, strategic sourcing, or external partnerships within a CDMO, CRO, or pharmaceutical environment.
* Proven expertise in global clinical courier/logistics services.
* Demonstrated success in multi-client environments and sponsor-facing delivery models.
Pay:
The annual pay range for this position in New Jersey is $177,700-$257,000
