You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and occasionally installing electrical systems on a wide range of manufacturing equipment. The role involves both planned and reactive maintenance, with a strong focus on process improvement, minimal downtime, and ensuring plant safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound technical knowledge, a hands-on approach, and strong problem-solving abilities. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and preventative maintenance on electrical systems in machinery such as bulk handling systems, extrusion lines, automated transport, and filling systems. Diagnose and repair faults involving sensors, motors, drives, conveyors, and general control systems. Support and implement Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) strategies to ensure equipment reliability. Log and manage issues using the CMMS (Sage) system. Respond to breakdowns and service calls promptly to reduce production downtime. Assist in the installation of electrical supplies for machinery and production processes. Collaborate with production teams to enhance process stability and output efficiency. Ensure compliance with PUWER regulations and internal health & safety policies. Assess equipment for potential safety upgrades or improvements. Keep accurate maintenance records and manage critical spares inventory. Participate in continuous improvement projects and structured problem-solving activities such as Root Cause Analysis and 5 Whys. Contribute to engineering projects and the development of new production processes. Maintain and promote a high standard of health, safety, and environmental compliance. Qualifications & Experience Apprentice trained or HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) preferred BS 7671 18th Edition (Required) C&G 2391 Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing (Desirable) C&G 2394/2395 Verification & Inspection Testing (Desirable) Demonstrated experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems Strong knowledge of safety standards and PUWER regulations (1998) Experience with root cause analysis and other structured problem-solving methods IPAF/PASMA MEWP certification (Categories 3A and 3B) desirable Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics Good understanding of automation systems and controls Key Skills & Attributes Proactive and self-motivated with a strong hands-on approach Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills Effective communicator with good interpersonal and teamwork abilities Adaptable and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Working Conditions A supportive and safety-conscious working environment Opportunity for training and professional development Competitive salary Free onsite gym and weekly fitness classes
