Do you care about caring for people and want to make a difference in your local community? A new and challenging role with Sense Scotland could be what you are looking for.
Our friendly teams in Ellon, Cruden Bay, and Peterhead are looking for like-minded, dedicated individuals to join them on a full or part-time basis.
As a Support Practitioner with Sense Scotland, you will work directly with adults who have a variety of complex needs, supporting them with all aspects of their lives, including developing their life skills such as communication, social skills, and encouraging independence.
Each person we support has their own tenancy, meaning you will work within their homes, assisting with personal care (bathing and toileting), medication administration, meal preparation, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and household tasks like cleaning and laundry.
You will encourage participation in activities such as meeting friends, social gatherings, long drives, walks, swimming, and picnics. When the weather isn't suitable, activities may include arts and crafts, indoor games, or pamper sessions at home.
Most of the people we support have their own cars, which you would use to take them where they need to go. A UK driving license and manual driving license are required. If you're not a driver, that's okay; we also accommodate public transport options.
The households are lively, joyful, and fun-filled. No two days are the same, providing opportunities to learn, develop, and grow as a Support Practitioner. Our onsite managers and supervisors support you throughout, and with ongoing training and peer support, you'll soon feel part of the team and wonder why you waited so long to make the move.
