Communications, Governance and Employer Liaison Officer – Graduate Placement (Pensions Team)
Overview
RCT Council’s Graduate Programme 2026 offers a placement within the Pension Fund. The role focuses on communications, governance and employer liaison, supporting fund members and employers while helping the Management Team meet governance requirements.
Responsibilities
* Enhance the Pension Fund’s communications and educational support for existing and prospective members and employers.
* Act as a key point of contact for fund employers.
* Support the Management Team in meeting essential governance requirements.
* Collaborate with senior colleagues to deliver on set objectives and deadlines.
Qualifications Essential Criteria
* Graduate with a minimum 2:2 degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Public Relations, Media & Communication Studies, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related discipline.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex information simply and clearly.
* Confidence working with data and digital tools.
* Initiative, accuracy and strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work with a range of stakeholders and build effective professional relationships.
* Enjoy working as part of a team.
Desirable
Knowledge of pensions or the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) is preferable, but not essential. Full training and pension‑specific qualifications will be provided.
