As Sales Manager, you will take ownership of driving profitable new business growth, building strong client relationships, and shaping the future of our sales function. This is a high-impact role where success will be measured on delivery of new profitable work and clear ROI.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution
· Develop and implement structured sales plans to achieve growth targets.
· Identify, qualify, and secure profitable new jobs and contracts.
· Monitor market activity, competitor trends, and customer needs to inform approach.
Business Development
· Build and expand relationships across industrial, commercial, and public-sector clients.
· Secure contracts with long-term, high-value potential.
· Represent Walsh Brothers at networking events, trade shows, and industry forums.
Customer Relationship Management
· Develop strong, professional relationships with new customers to support repeat work.
· Liaise with operational teams to ensure accurate pricing and profitable delivery.
· Act as a trusted advisor by demonstrating technical understanding of our services
Reporting and Accountability
· Take full responsibility for establishing, developing, and growing the sales function.
· Proactively identify opportunities, risks, and improvements in the pipeline.
· Provide weekly pipeline updates and activity summaries to management.
· Deliver monthly performance reports and forecasts to the senior management team, clearly evidencing profit contribution and ROI.
· Work closely with finance to validate profit on secured work and ensure commission aligns with results.
Requirements
Industry Experience
· –10 years of B2B sales experience, ideally within waste management, industrial services, construction, or related sectors.
· Demonstrable track record of delivering profitable new business.
Skills & Knowledge
· Strong commercial acumen with ability to price and negotiate for profitability.
· Excellent relationship-building, influencing, and presentation skills.
· Comfortable managing full sales cycle from prospecting through to contract.
Personal Attributes
· Proactive, self-motivated, and driven by results.
· Confident communicator with a "hunter" mindset and ability to work autonomously.
· Willing to travel extensively across Scotland.
· Full, valid UK driving licence required.
Compensation
·
Base Salary:
£65,000 – £85,000 depending on experience.

Commission:
Profit-based commission on new business secured.
·
Package:
Car allowance and pension.
