Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. This role involves assisting with daily living activities and supporting individuals in maintaining their independence. A strong emphasis on communication skills and the ability to follow care plans is essential.
Responsibilities
* Deliver personal care and support to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Assist residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
* Follow individual care plans to meet the specific needs of each resident.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' health or behaviour to senior staff.
* Engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship.
* Ensure a clean and safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
* Drive residents to appointments or activities as required (driving licence preferred).
Skills
* Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous.
* Ability to understand and implement care plans effectively.
* Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation.
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for this role.
