Structural Soils, part of the RSK Group, is continuing to grow across Scotland and we’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Glasgow team.

The role:
As Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a team of talented and enthusiastic early and mid‑career professionals based in Glasgow, providing technical direction, mentoring and support. Alongside people leadership, you’ll have overall responsibility for the technical and commercial performance of ground investigation projects across the region.
You’ll work closely with senior colleagues across Structural Soils and the wider RSK Group, helping to shape future workload, develop the team and maintain high standards of delivery.
What you’ll be doing:
* Leading and developing a local team of engineers and engineering geologists
* Providing technical leadership and oversight across ground investigation projects
* Taking ownership of health and safety in line with company standards, while working with the Directors to continuously improve and oversee health, safety and wellbeing across the business.
* Managing project delivery, including programme, resources, SHEQ and commercial performance
* Supporting bids, tenders and client engagement activities
* Acting as a senior technical point of contact for clients and internal teams
* Reviewing and approving reports and technical outputs
* Contributing to regional planning, workload management and future growth
* Promoting best practice and continuous improvement across the team
What we’re looking for:
* Significant UK ground investigation experience with strong technical credibility
* Proven experience managing or leading teams
* BSc qualified in Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Geoscience or a related discipline. An MSc is desirable but not essential.
* Strong knowledge of geotechnical standards, including BS 5930 + A2.
* Excellent report writing skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
* Confident communicator with clients and senior stakeholders
* Commercial awareness and experience overseeing project performance
* Full UK driving licence
Salary and benefits:
* Salary up to £65,000 depending on experience.
