Community Staff Nurse - Morecambe North District at NHS. This is a part-time, permanent role based in Morecambe with a district nursing focus.
Job Summary
Morecambe North District Nurses has an exciting opportunity to recruit to a part-time, permanent contract. We would like an enthusiastic and highly motivated band 5 Community Nurse who will be happy to work in an evolving district nursing service. The successful applicant will be committed to working closely with health and social care colleagues to provide high-quality care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions in the community setting. Applications from student nurses due to qualify and newly qualified staff nurses are welcomed from those who wish to develop within the scope of Community Nursing.
Main duties
The team is based in central Morecambe, with easy access from the M6 and local transport networks. The role requires excellent communication skills as you will be undertaking complex nursing assessments and developing and delivering programmes of care for patients and carers. The district nurses work a 24-hour service and there is an expectation that you may be required to support this to ensure service delivery. You will need to work collaboratively with other professionals, voluntary sector and informal carers to promote excellent care to patients in their own homes and community settings. You will be joining an enthusiastic and motivated team who are patient-focused and where staff development is high on our agenda. We aim to develop all staff to the highest standard.
About Us
We operate from three main hospitals – Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as community health care premises including Millom Hospital, GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. Our community services for adults are provided in peoples homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high-quality care, advice and support.
