We're supporting a UK public sector technology programme and are looking for an SC‑cleared Technical Writer to deliver high‑quality documentation across End User Computing (EUC) and Zero Trust security services. This is a hands‑on delivery role focused on producing clear, structured, and maintainable documentation for both internal technical teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Create and maintain:
o Service documentation
o SOPs/runbooks
o Knowledge base articles
* Document operational processes including:
o User onboarding and off‑boarding
o Device life cycle management
o Access, authentication and identity flows
o Troubleshooting and escalation paths
* Produce and manage:
o Internal technical documentation
o Customer‑facing documentation (with appropriate redaction)
* Establish and apply documentation standards:
o Templates, structure, version control, review cadence
* Work closely with engineering, security, identity and service teams to capture and maintain accurate content
* Publish documentation via Confluence (internal) and SharePoint Online (external)
Technology Environment (Documentation Focus)
You’ll be documenting services and processes around:
* Zero Trust access models (e.g., Zscaler)
* Identity and access management (e.g., Okta, Microsoft Entra)
* Endpoint management (Workspace ONE/Omnissa, Jamf Pro)
* Microsoft 365 with E5 security capabilities
* Windows, macOS, iOS and Android estates
Hands‑on engineering experience is not required, but you must be comfortable understanding and documenting technical concepts accurately.
Qualifications
* Proven technical writing experience within IT environments (EUC, IAM, security, cloud or infrastructure)
* Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts for different audiences
* Hands‑on experience with Confluence
* Experience publishing content to SharePoint Online (or equivalent)
* Comfortable producing diagrams (Visio, Lucidchart, draw.io)
* Active SC clearance, transferable and valid
* Able to work autonomously and deliver documentation to agreed standards and timelines
Desirable (Not Essential)
* Familiarity with Zscaler, Okta, Microsoft Entra, Workspace ONE, Jamf or Microsoft 365 security concepts
* Experience documenting ITIL‑aligned services or service management processes
