The Role
As a Naval Architect, you will use your excellent understanding of hydrodynamics and engineering to support our team in solving important customer problems. The work you lead will be strategically significant, allowing us to adapt and deliver mission-critical capabilities while confronting new challenges.
Day-to-day, you’ll oversee strategic areas of the business and provide technical support for hydrodynamic model experiments at QinetiQ’s Haslar facilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting engineering and technical activities of the programme
* Delivering hydrodynamic model experiments
* Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
* Developing and modifying code for mathematical modelling assessments
* Maintaining high safety and governance standards across projects
Essential experience:
* Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams
* Strong understanding of hydrodynamics or related skills
* Proficiency in coding, preferably with MATLAB, Simulink, or Python
Essential qualifications:
* BEng / MEng in Aeronautical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a relevant engineering discipline

This role is 37 hours per week, based at either our Gosport or Bristol site.
Haslar
Our facilities at Haslar Marine Technology Park include an ocean basin rotating arm and marine towing tank, providing an ideal environment for testing and refining designs. We offer hydrodynamic model testing services for surface ships, submarines, offshore structures, and renewable energy devices.
