This is an exciting opportunity to join the radiology nursing team as part of an Imaging department that holds the Quality Standards for Imaging accreditation.
Radiology has recently expanded across all modalities with the opening of the new Clinical Diagnostic Centre this year. This centre will provide diagnostic imaging to approximately 450 people a day when fully operational. In autumn 2020, we also opened the Norfolk Centre for Interventional Radiology (NCIR). Radiology Nursing includes our nurse-led Vascular Access Team, which aims to expand services this year.
This role offers the chance to lead and be part of a team of specialist nurses and allied health professionals in an innovative specialty. The current NCIR houses Siemens equipment for a range of elective and inpatient procedures, supported by a dedicated 16-bed recovery space. We perform a variety of vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures, with ambitions to expand these services and be at the forefront of IR developments.
The successful candidate will need to be dynamic and engaged, with a shared enthusiasm for advancing radiology nursing standards while maintaining high professional standards. The role involves clinical work, which can be discussed informally before application.
You will manage and support the Interventional Radiology nursing team, including operating department practitioners and paramedics, as well as the wider radiology nursing team, working alongside a dedicated radiographic team. Collaboration with the Imaging Matron, NCIR service lead radiographer, and other modality leads will be essential, focusing on Workforce, Governance, Performance, and Finance.
