Electrician – Social Housing
Location: Portsmouth, Petersfield, Bordon & Guildford
Rate: £25.94 per hour (Temp)
Salary: £42,000 per annum (Permanent)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
Contract: Temp to Perm
On?Call Rota: Approx. 1 in 6 weeks (Thursday–Thursday)
Overtime: Available
Build Recruitment are working on behalf of a well?established social housing provider to recruit an experienced Electrician to join their South?region responsive repairs team, covering the Portsmouth, Petersfield, Bordon, and Guildford areas.
Role Overview
You will play a key role in delivering responsive and emergency electrical repairs within occupied social housing properties. The role requires a strong first?time?fix approach, excellent fault?finding ability, and a professional, customer?focused attitude.
Key Duties
1. Responsive and emergency electrical repairs
2. Replacing damaged accessories and fittings
3. Electrical fault diagnosis
4. Partial rewires
5. Distribution board upgrades
6. Circuit and heating system fault?finding
7. Ensuring all work is completed safely, compliantly, and right first time
8. Acting as a professional, customer?facing ambassador in residents’ homes
On?Call & Overtime
9. Participation in the on?call rota approx. once every six weeks
10. Standby allowance plus payment per completed call?out
11. Option to cover additional on?call weeks
12. Overtime rates: Monday–Friday: Standard rate Saturday: Time and a half Sunday: Double time

Requirements
25. Fully qualified Electrician (Level 3 / AM2)
26. 18th Edition wiring regulations
27. Experience in domestic or social housing repairs (advantageous)
28. NICEIC certification or experience using equivalent certification software
29. Strong fault?finding and first?time?fix ability
30. Excellent customer service and communication skills
31. Full UK driving licence
32. Own hand and power tools
