Why this job matters
The role of the LRACCS Compliance team is to help BT conduct its business in full compliance with all applicable regulations, as well as internal codes of conduct, policies, standards and procedures.
We enable the business to create and maintain great customer outcomes by providing unparalleled risk, compliance, and assurance expertise.
This is a leadership role with strategic and operational responsibilities in one of the largest organisations in the country. The postholder will lead a compliance team and shape the compliance framework across the organisation. As a member of the Compliance Director’s leadership team, they will provide expert insight, drive initiatives, and influence decision-making at senior levels.
The individual will be the foremost authority in their compliance area, working closely with senior leadership across BT to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and business objectives.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Establish and lead a Centre of Excellence for External Regulatory Reporting, setting the standard for compliance within a FTSE100 environment.
* Shape a sustainable, forward-thinking compliance function that sets industry trends.
* Develop and deliver the Technology Strategy for LRACCS Compliance, including data analytics, AI, and speech technologies.
* Monitor regulatory and industry trends to inform strategic direction.
* Oversee governance and controls to ensure regulatory obligations are met.
* Provide governance advice, particularly regarding the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SM&CR).
* Define and track KPIs to assess compliance health.
* Develop and maintain MI systems for compliance data analysis and reporting.
* Lead the design and delivery of bespoke compliance training for the Consumer business.
* Stay ahead of regulatory changes and update policies accordingly.
* Create compliance education programs to enhance employee understanding.
* Manage multiple high-impact projects aligned with strategic goals.
* Demonstrate expertise across regulatory regimes to strengthen frameworks.
* Ensure high accuracy in compliance gap analysis, documentation, and risk identification.
* Drive regulatory change initiatives as a change agent.
* Communicate insights effectively using data storytelling and analytics.
* Apply strong business acumen, understanding strategic drivers, financial metrics, and performance levers.
* Leverage networks to promote collaboration and industry best practices.

* Experience working with senior stakeholders in complex organisations.
* Background in developing MI systems for compliance reporting.
