Lockton People Solutions is seeking an Associate Broker, to provide day-to-day support and direct working within, the ‘Broking Desk’.

The ‘Broking Desk’ is a specialised team that conducts the employee benefits market review activity, working collaboratively with the client consultants and the provider markets.

The team’s purpose is to create not only efficiency within the review process but focus on maximising value from this vital aspect of our client service. Our goal is to embed best-practice and a consultative approach into all aspects of the review process, to the advantage of all parties.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

* Support the Senior Brokers with the team’s market review activity
* Take ownership of market review cases once training appropriate
* Conduct and support end-to-end market reviews for all healthcare and protection-based employee benefits, with a key focus on private healthcare, group life assurance, group income protection, group critical illness, dental and cash plan
* Liaison and terms negotiation with the provider market
* Work closely with the client consultants to ensure all activity and outcomes reflect the clients and consultants’ objectives
* Draft to completion, client facing market review reports and review collateral
* Proactively contribute to the development of processes and procedures within the Broking Desk, to ensure experience is improved at every opportunity
* Undertake training and on-the-job shadowing of Senior Brokers, to learn the benefits market, technical understanding of the insurance schemes and associated best-practice processes

Skills and Knowledge:

* Proactive approach and enthusiasm to learn the market review process and wider benefit consultancy, for healthcare and protection schemes
* Proven experience in working to deadlines
* Track record of accuracy and impeccable attention to detail
* Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
* Ability to adapt under pressure and problem solve
* Ability to support, add value and provide high quality outputs
* Robust comprehension and calculation skills
* Strong MSOffice skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
* Fast learner, with the ability to pick-up new processes, skills, and knowledge
* Strong team working and individual intuition
* Personable and professional, working with both internal and external parties
