Job: Production Team Leader at Kilby Packaging
Location: Little Addington, Kettering
Hours: 7am – 4pm, Monday to Thursday; 7am – 1pm, Friday. (NO SHIFTS OR WEEKENDS)
Established in 1946, Kilby Packaging is family owned and managed company which has been manufacturing and distributing packaging to a range of industries for 75 years. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Team Leader to become part of our growing corrugated production team. The ideal candidate will lead by example, maintaining high safety standards and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency across the production line.
The successful candidate will be required to:-
· Support both the Site Manager and Assistant Site Manager in all operational practices and procedures.
· Assist in ensuring all departmental health & safety legislation is complied with at all times, identifying and reporting risks whilst completing relevant paperwork when necessary.
· Be confident to set, operate and maintain machinery for which they have received training including solving breakdowns where possible.
· Be able to work to a deadline.
· Communicate and collaborate effectively with all staff, setting an example with their own working practices.
· Provide constructive feedback to staff and deliver departmental training for any new equipment, machinery, working practices and any other staff development need.
· Assist with new employee induction and ongoing mentoring of all staff.
· Ensure quality of own work and that of others is kept to a high standard.
· Ensure all staff maintain a clean and organised work environment.
· Have a good attitude to work, be committed and dedicated.
Candidate requirements
Essential
The successful candidate will:-
· Have previous experience of working within a busy production environment.
· Demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills and have previous supervisory or team-lead experience.
· Have a proven ability to diagnose and resolve machine issues under pressure.
· Be commercially aware and confident working under pressure to meet deadlines.
· Be practical with excellent organisational and time management skills.
· Be accommodating, helpful and friendly.
Desirable
· The successful candidate will already hold, or be willing to work towards, a FLT licence.
