Join Cranstoun Derby – multiple opportunities
Help shape a compassionate, high‑quality drug and alcohol service that puts people first
At Cranstoun, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthier, safer life. For over 50 years, we’ve worked alongside people, families and communities to reduce harm, challenge stigma and support lasting change.
We’re proud to be delivering a new, expanding drug and alcohol service in Derby, and we’re now looking for passionate, values‑driven people to help shape it from the ground up.
These roles sit at the heart of a trauma‑informed, person‑centred service that values kindness, professionalism, collaboration and learning. Whether you’re leading teams, strengthening quality and governance, or working directly with people accessing support, you’ll be part of a service with ambition, integrity and heart – where your voice matters and your impact is visible.
If you’re motivated by social justice, committed to high‑quality practice, and want to be part of a supportive organisation that invests in its people, we’d love to hear from you.
Operations Manager
The Operations Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the safe, effective and efficient day‑to‑day delivery of the Cranstoun Derby service. You will have responsibility for overseeing operational performance across sites and teams, ensuring services are adequately staffed, well‑run and responsive to the needs of people accessing support.
Working closely with clinical, governance, key workers and senior practitioners, you will translate strategy into operational reality – embedding consistent practice, supporting team leaders, and ensuring contracts, KPIs and commissioner expectations are met across teams. The role provides clear operational leadership, problem‑solving and decision‑making, particularly where services are under pressure or evolving.
Key aspects of the role include workforce management, rota and capacity oversight, performance monitoring, operational risk management, and close partnership working with commissioners and external agencies. This role is ideal for an experienced operational leader who thrives in complex environments and is motivated by building strong, resilient services.
Quality & Governance Lead
This is a senior role with responsibility for overseeing quality, governance and incident management across Cranstoun Derby. You will lead on audits, investigations, learning from incidents, and compliance with CQC and other regulatory requirements, while supporting operational managers to continuously improve practice and outcomes. This role provides leadership to the governance and senior practitioner team and plays a key role in shaping safe, effective services.
Key Worker (multiple roles)
Key Workers are at the heart of service delivery, working directly with people affected by alcohol and other drug use. You will hold a caseload, complete assessments, deliver psychosocial and harm reduction interventions, and support individuals to move towards recovery, enhance harm reduction interventions and improved health and stability. This is a hands‑on, rewarding role making a direct difference in people’s lives.
