Plant Maintenance Technician
Job Summary:
The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment, including but not limited to balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. The technician must respond to system failures by taking appropriate corrective actions, completing or assigning repairs to ensure systems are operational, safe, and efficient. This position reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager and may vary by site.

$22.00
Shift:
Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm for onboarding and training; then Monday-Thursday 2pm-10:30pm, Friday 12pm-8:30pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Performs repairs following Waste Management Safety and OSHA standards.
* Conducts preventive maintenance inspections, diagnoses, repairs, and rebuilds major equipment including balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electromagnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front-end loaders, and building equipment.
* Maintains Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) backlog.
* Adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and communicates with the Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager regarding additional work or delays.
* Inspects the quality of third-party repairs or rebuilds and recommends improvements.
* Performs emergency service calls and manages multiple priorities.
* Supports flexible work schedules, including nights and weekends, as needed.
* Maintains a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Must be at least 18 years old.
* Ability to meet physical requirements with or without accommodations.
* Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening, physical, and background checks.
Education and Experience:
* High School Diploma or GED.
* At least two years of relevant work experience.
* Knowledge of single and three-phase electrical systems, electrical control systems, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, including air compressors.
* Ability to safely operate repair tools and equipment, diagnose defects, and repair various equipment and vehicles.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Requires physical effort such as pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting. The environment may involve dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, and other elements. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
