The Role: The engine development facility within the JCB Group Engineering is responsible for the design and development of JCB engines for both JCB and OEM applications. This takes place at the JCB Power Systems Research & Development Centre, Foston, with 18 diesel/hydrogen engine test cells. The main focus is to maintain and repair these test cells efficiently and to a high standard.
Responsibilities include:
1. Smooth operation of the test laboratory, including routine and preventative maintenance.
2. Responding promptly to cell breakdowns to keep test cells operational.
3. Repair of electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment in test cells and infrastructure.
4. Service and calibration of lab equipment.
5. Construction of bespoke test rigs.
6. Integration and commissioning of new equipment.
7. Liaising with external suppliers.
Ideal candidate:
* Trained in electro/mechanical/electronic disciplines or experienced in testing and repairing electronic equipment, PCs, PCBs, etc.
* Experience in maintenance, electronics, or a fundamental understanding of test cell operations.
* Experience in automotive powertrain or off-highway engine environments.
