What we’re looking for
Aura Power is looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner who is an excellent communicator and passionate about getting the numbers right. An interest in renewables and a willingness to learn what it takes to develop grid scale projects is essential. This will be a great role for someone who wants to make their mark as a core member of the FP&A team and support our development team in making these projects a reality.
What you’ll be doing
We develop large scale solar and battery storage projects in the UK, Canada, the US, Italy, Portugal, Lithuania, Spain, Germany and Ireland, working closely with landowners and local stakeholders to develop our sites to the highest standards.
As our Finance Business Partner, you will be a key member of the FP&A team, improving the accuracy of business forecasts and budgets, shaping the budgeting process. You will play a key role in supporting business decisions at all levels by:
* Supporting project managers to develop accurate budget and forecasts. Helping them with gate reviews and explaining variances between budgets and actual spend.
* Working closely with the finance team to maintain accurate cashflow forecasts. Looking at the impact of different scenarios on levels of cash in the business.
* Generating monthly reporting including KPI’s and key financial metrics. This includes working closely with the Development and Business Services team to include non-financial metrics.
* Supporting ad hoc reporting and modelling requirements to look at the impact of significant business decisions.
What experience you’ll need/ Is this the job for you?
You don’t need to be from a renewables background, but you do need to be willing to learn as it will be essential you understand the development process. Experience supporting managers in the budgeting and forecasting process, including reviewing variances and challenging anomalies is essential. You will be working closely with different teams across the business and development teams globally, so you need to be a strong communicator with the ability to tailor your approach to your audience.
Strong Excel skills are essential, and knowledge of GSheets is desirable. Experience using Google Apps Script would be a bonus.

These values can be seen in our everyday conversations and interactions and help build a culture of belonging where anyone with these core values can thrive and feel valued.

You must therefore be able to embrace these values, so please describe how you can evidence this, and your genuine interest in renewable energy, in your covering letter.

You will enjoy a varied, project based workload and producing information, analysis and advice to senior internal stakeholders.
Collaborative: involves the right people at the right time and communicates well.
The Finance Business Partner will work on a daily basis with members of operational staff. You will enjoy working alongside and assisting yours peers and be confident in making informed recommendations to senior management.
Responsible: takes ownership and delivers.
Your will take pride in the accuracy and quality of your work. Integral to the role is gathering, analysing and presenting data and you will need to take ownership of the integrity of that data.
A Force for Good: a positive influence for colleagues, community and the planet.
You will want to make sure that the developers you work with to produce budgets and data enjoy working with you and feel empowered by the process.
Impactful: insightful, shows initiative, prioritises and works smart.
You will be effective in and enjoy reporting to the senior management team, learning what the KPIs of the business are and how you can best make a difference by understanding and reporting on them.
Curious: adaptable, innovative and encourages growth.
You will need to show initiative in developing new tools and models to deliver the remit. This is a new role, not a replacement, and you will need to show innovation develop new process which involve other members of staff to execute the role.
