The senior project manager is required to work on an upgrade programme of works within a nuclear licenced site and will report to the Project Lead or Project Director. To own, plan, manage and deliver projects associated with the programme of works with varying values to support a wider infrastructure upgrade. The candidate will need to be proactive and able to work in a matrix team structure within a business that has multiple stakeholders with competing priorities. Due to the strict security requirements, candidates must be a UK National and will need to progress through security clearance. You’ll be responsible for: Drafting scope of works documents, incorporating comments through the document control system to enable packages to be procured. Managing and delivering the allocated packages under the direction of the project lead/project director. Performing measures to reduce risks to enable successful succession through gate reviews. Provide updates on scheduling, risk, cost, and quality through project reports weekly project team reviews. Ensuring compliance with all working practices, standards of discipline, safety and quality are maintained through familiarisation and compliance with requirements of corporate procedures. Interfacing with sub-contractors to ensure the scope of work and schedule requirements are understood. Line management of an assistant project manager. You’ll need to have: Proven ability of technical problem solving and ability to interpret and contribute to technically focussed discussions involving product design/engineering (mechanical/ electrical/control systems). Thorough understanding of the principles of product lifecycle planning/management. Ability to identify project and system level interfaces/dependencies to determine and influence critical path. Effective communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Integrate, network and influence cross functionally within the clients existing organisational structure. Qualified to a degree level or equivalent and membership of appropriate professional body. Experience working in a fast-moving project environment essential. Previously SQEP assessed for nuclear engineering/design/PM roles is desirable. Experience in nuclear or other highly regulated sectors is desirable.
