We are seeking an experienced and proactive Engineering Shift Team Leader to support day-to-day engineering operations at our Tewkesbury site. In this hands-on leadership role, you will guide and support a team of Engineers, ensuring the smooth running of production and distribution activities across a fast-paced environment.
Location: Tewkesbury Salary: £20.51£21.51 per hour DOE, plus overtime at 1.25 hourly rate above 40 hours Hours: 40 per week Shift Pattern:
Week 1: MondayFriday, 06:0013:45, plus Saturday (06:00finish)
Week 2: MondayFriday, 13:3521:45
About You Skills & Experience
Electrical-based apprenticeship or equivalent qualification essential
Experience working with high-speed machinery in FMCG or a similar production environment essential
Strong electrical fault-finding skills essential
Proven experience with automated machinery essential
Previous supervisory or people-management experience essential
Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage shifting priorities
Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
Flexible approach to shift patterns and deadlines, consistently delivering high-quality work

Key Responsibilities
Support the Engineering Manager in achieving departmental objectives
Lead, supervise, and mentor Engineers, ensuring effective use of team skills
Plan, coordinate, and deliver preventative maintenance schedules
Diagnose, repair, and test electrical and mechanical equipment
Lead fault-finding and resolution on high-speed automated machinery
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance paperwork
Provide guidance and support to Apprentices where required
Deputise for the Engineering Manager and provide cover for Engineers when needed
Participate in the engineering call-out rota for equipment breakdowns
