Depute Chief Executive / Director - People & Resources (Section 95 Officer) Salary: £130K* plus Distant Islands Allowance (additional £2,997 per annum pro rata). Interim salary pending during current management review.
Relocation allowance: up to £8,000 available.
Responsibilities
Lead the Broad Service Portfolio including Finance, Human Resources, Transformation, Climate Change & Waste, Asset and Property Management Services.
Represent the Council externally to promote the best interests of Shetland Islands and shape policy decisions that affect the community.
Support and deputise for the Chief Executive as required.
Model organisational values and promote a One Council approach.
Lead, motivate, inspire and develop staff; foster excellent relationships with elected members and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Qualified accountant (Section 95 Officer required).
Strong leadership and management attributes; ability to lead, motivate, inspire.
Values‑led leader with visibility and accountability.
Excellent communication skills and professional presence.
Additional Information
Grade: CO 34 - 36.
Length: Permanent Full Time, 37.0 Hours per week, 52.18 weeks per year.
Relocation package applies.

Must be able to travel across Shetland at short notice; limited public transport.
