About the role
To provide technical expertise in risk management, supporting project teams with analysis, modelling, and reporting. The analyst ensures risks are quantified, tracked, and communicated effectively to enable informed decision-making and support a proactive risk culture. Analysts support multiple projects and help drive continuous improvement in risk management.
What you'll be doing
* Maintain and update risk registers across assigned projects.
* Facilitate and document risk workshops and reviews.
* Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments (e.g. QCRA, QSRA).
* Support cost and schedule risk modelling using appropriate tools.
* Prepare risk reports and dashboards for project and leadership teams.
* Advise on contingency planning and risk treatment strategies.
* Provide day-to-day management of risk threats and opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with Balfour Beatty and client risk management standards and processes.
* Support the risk manager in carrying out schedule and cost risk quantification, risk assurance and risk governance activities.
* Assist in syndicating and sharing risk insights across a portfolio of projects, supporting consistent risk management practices and knowledge transfer.
Benchmark historical risk data to identify trends, inform future risk assessments, and support the development of more effective mitigation strategies. Who we're looking for
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation
* Ability to work effectively within project teams and wider business.
* Proficiency in risk management facilitation and risk data updates.
* Analytical skills for building and interpreting cost, schedule, and business risk models.
* Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Knowledge of risk management, project management, and project control techniques.
* Experience with Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) techniques and tools (e.g. PRA, Risk Amp).
* Experience with risk database tools (e.g. Risk Hive, Power Bi).
* Membership of the Institute of Risk Management or APM Risk Practitioner certification.
* Degree in a relevant technical or management field or equivalent experience.
