The Organisation
Social Care Wales provides leadership and expertise in welfare and early years in Wales. Their vision is to make a positive difference to support for children, adults, and their families and carers.
To achieve this, they lead on developing and regulating the workforce, service improvement, and data and research to improve support. Through their quality assurance work, they support educators in both education and practice settings, ensuring the highest level of training for the next generation of workers.
We are now looking for a Project Officer to join us on a two-year fixed-term contract, working 36 hours per week. However, this role is offered with flexible working, and we will also consider candidates as part of a job share. This hybrid role will be based in either our Cardiff or Llandudno Junction office, with remote working options.

The Role
As a Project Officer, you will play a critical support role for projects within our Professional Regulation Portfolio, focused on projects to improve how we regulate and support social care practice.
Supporting the Project and Delivery Managers, you will ensure projects are completed successfully, adapting to changing delivery requirements to ensure projects achieve their goals.
You will cover a broad range of topics of varying complexity and will work on projects outside of your direct remit to provide support across our organisation.
Your role will involve:
- Planning, supporting and aiding the delivery of projects
- Monitoring milestones and performance
- Identifying risks and issues
- Developing relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers
- Updating and maintaining records
About You
To be considered as a Project Officer, you will need:
- Experience of supporting projects to deliver improvement
- Experience of project reporting and developing project documentation
- Experience of co-ordinating information from a number of sources and maintaining appropriate records
- Knowledge and experience of project management principles and techniques
- Evidence of ongoing continual professional development
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
