Systems Engineer – Optical & Electro-Optical
Location: UK | £60,000 DoE + bonus | 9-day fortnight | Profit sharing | Pension & life insurance
We're looking for a Systems Engineer to lead the design and integration of optical, electro-optical, and laser-based systems. You'll take projects from concept to delivery, working across full product lifecycles and ensuring reliability, safety, and performance.
What you'll do:
* Lead multidisciplinary projects with optical, laser, or electro-optical tech.
* Capture requirements and define system/subsystem functions.
* Manage interfaces, risks, and integration activities.
* Plan and execute verification, validation, and testing.
* Support proposals, reports, and customer engagement.
You have:
* Engineering degree (postgraduate experience a plus).
* Experience with optical/electro-optical/laser systems and product development.
* Knowledge of reliability, FMECA, FTA, safety cases, and product testing.
* Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Extras:
* Eligible for SC security clearance.
* Occasional travel; UK driving licence required.
