Operational Solutions – Assistant Manager
Isio is recruiting for an Assistant Manager in the Pensions Operational Solutions Team to work on large and complex pension schemes. You will join a team that advises on defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) schemes and helps schemes deliver strategic goals for their members.
We are focussed on delivering solutions and positive outcomes to our clients and their members. You will be part of Isio’s Actuarial & Consulting team – a community of over 400 pensions consultants and actuaries advising diverse clients across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
Role summary: As an Assistant Manager, you will contribute to project delivery, support client relationships, and help drive the team’s revenue targets through effective delivery and quality outcomes.
Role and Responsibilities
* Contribute to the successful delivery of projects to support the Operational Solutions (OS) team revenue targets.
* Engage directly with some of the largest and most complex DB and DC schemes, and insurers, in a client-facing role.
* Interact with pension providers, insurers and public service schemes in the UK.
* Support projects delivering:
o Reviews of data quality
o Pension benefit calculations
o Administration operations
o Service improvement plans
o Data management plans and benefit remediation projects
* Assist schemes in achieving strategic objectives (e.g., insurance transactions and more effective BAU).
* Involvement in GMP reconciliation and data cleansing prior to GMP equalisation, or other data and benefit audit projects, and carry out more complex benefit calculations.
* Produce client deliverables (usually report-style) and attend meetings to discuss findings.
* Check the work of more junior colleagues and support training and mentoring within the team.
Key Skills & Experience
* Solid understanding of DB and DC pension schemes, including administration and regulatory requirements.
* Experience as a consultant or experienced Pensions Administrator in a consultancy environment, ideally with client-facing exposure.
* Ability to review and interpret complex data and reports with accuracy and compliance.
* Technical experience in pensions administration, including calculations, benefit audits and service improvement plans.
* Knowledge of UK pension regulations and compliance requirements.
* Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
