QWM Group is looking for a Rail Sentinel & Resource Coordinator to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a pivotal role where you'll manage Sentinel scheme compliance and support the effective allocation of resources across our rail projects.
You'll ensure all safety-critical and trackside staff remain compliant with Network Rail Sentinel regulations, while also coordinating onboarding, training, and labour resourcing to keep our operations running smoothly. This is a varied role that combines compliance administration with hands-on resource management.
This role gives you the chance to make a direct impact on both compliance and resource management within our rail division. You'll be at the centre of keeping projects safe, compliant, and efficiently staffed, while supporting the future growth of QWM Group.
Key Responsibilities
Sentinel & Compliance
* Maintain and update the Sentinel database, ensuring all staff hold valid competencies.
* Schedule and coordinate medicals, drug & alcohol tests, and training courses in line with Network Rail standards.
* Ensure all new starters are inducted and registered with Sentinel before track access.
* Carry out periodic audits and compliance checks, including fatigue management reporting.
* Manage PPE and ID assurance linked to Sentinel eligibility.
* Act as the point of contact for Sentinel-related queries and support compliance investigations.
* Prepare and submit regular compliance and KPI reports.
Resource Coordination
* Oversee resource allocation and optimisation across projects.
* Manage the onboarding process, including paperwork, training, and timesheets.
* Liaise with agencies and labour suppliers to source electricians, telecoms engineers, and operatives.
* Maintain up-to-date resource and training records for audit and legal compliance.
* Organise and book training sessions, accommodation, and travel as required.
* Provide guidance and support to project teams on resource-related matters.
* Prepare and distribute resource reports and statistics to management.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a rail, construction, M&E, or safety-critical compliance role.
* Strong knowledge of Network Rail Sentinel Scheme Rules.
* Experience in resource coordination, onboarding, and labour management.
* Proficiency with the Sentinel portal and compliance tools.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with suppliers, agencies, and project teams.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
* Familiarity with Fatigue Management Systems and RISQS requirements (desirable).
