We are currently looking to expand our team who specialise in the assessment of the construction of major infrastructure projects. Working on a range of nationally significant projects such as East West Rail and High Speed 2, you will ensure that the necessary robust and detailed assessment of construction impacts is carried out to meet the requirements of the statutory planning process.
Responsibilities
* Interpret and inform detailed construction methodologies that are often complex, cover a wide geographical area and impact multiple modes
* Identify and assess suitable traffic routes that can accommodate construction traffic and safe diversion routes for all modes of general traffic
* Help specialist colleagues recognise the impact of construction on non‑motorised users, public transport services and emergency services
* Prepare formal deliverables including construction traffic management plans
* Engage in detail with traffic modelling teams to ensure temporary traffic management arrangements are correctly interpreted and modelled
* Contribute to multi‑disciplinary design co‑ordination meetings and studies to highlight impacts of design options and changes on construction traffic and access
* Provide client‑facing technical discussions and participate in stakeholder engagement activities
* Interpret highway and civil engineering construction designs and activities in programmes and translate data into a format that can be used by those without engineering backgrounds
Essential Qualifications
* Knowledge of construction processes to identify and summarise relevant information
* Knowledge of the stages and processes used by specialist engineering design teams
* Appreciation of the impact of major infrastructure projects on utility services
* Proficiency in interpreting complex spreadsheets to assess and manipulate extensive data
* Basic knowledge of strategic and local junction traffic modelling
* Good knowledge of traffic and transport assessment requirements for statutory planning processes, including Development Consent Orders
Desirable Qualifications
* Skills/knowledge in GIS
* Knowledge of temporary traffic management (TTM) methodologies
* A degree in transport planning or engineering
* Membership in a relevant professional organisation (e.g., IHT, ILT, TPS, or ICE)
* Professional qualification (CEng or CTPP) through CIHT, ICE or IET
